Welcome home and welcome to the loser's bench!!!

As an RNY'r, I'm afraid I can't recommend anything particular for the liquid diet with the exception of protein, protein, protein.

Congratulations!

Barb

Welcome home!!  Take it easy.......walk, sip, nap.  Like I said before, shakes, isopure drinks, crystal light, chicken broth.  Pretty boring but you're really not going to want much for awhile anyway.  Happy Birthday!!!!!!!! Nancy

Congratulations, I have one suggestion... I did not do chicken or beef broth but had my DH to get me some Wong Tong soup with no noodles instead. It has a much better taste. I also went through a phase where I wanted to just be able to chew something. Sugar Free popsicles really helped with that.

Welcome home!!!  I am doing clear liquids til next Wed. so I have been having SF popsicles (absolutely love them), crystal lite (adding the whey bullet in fruit punch flavor to the fruit punch flavored crystal lite - can not tell the protein is there, but it's 42 grams!), SF jello, chicken noodle soup heated up and strained (tastes much better than just chicken broth), vegetable soup heated up and strained, and plain old water.   I also got liquid tylenol for pain because I do not want to take what they gave me (liquid oxyconton?).  I did have it filled, but  I also got a flavoring kit from the drug store to change the taste somewhat.  Also had to get a pill splitter and pill crusher, a couple of sippy cups from the kids section, and a small spoon and fork for future use.   I slept in my recliner the first night, tried the guest bed last night and was able to stay there until about 5:30am - my back was killing me so I went back to the recliner and napped a few more hours. I am excited for you and me and everyone else on this board - what a bunch of LOSERS we are and are going to be!!! Brenda

Barbara is right about the protein.  It is not fun and difficult at times, but that protein and water intake is abolutely essential !!!  Please don't minimize the importance here.  I know folks who thought they were different and some ended up with dire hair loss, almost fatal dehydration and other sad results.  Congratulations and best wishes.
